Ayurvedic Treatment for Diabetes

Ayurveda has deep roots in medical history. In this way of treatment, natural medicines are used which are extracted from green vegetation and plants. It is said that this way of treatment has few or none side effects when given in controlled quantities. Ayurveda is the system of traditional medicine originated from Indian subcontinent but practiced in different parts of the world due to its effectiveness and safer approach. In the West, Ayurveda is considered as an alternative way of treatment. Its use is growing fast and more research is going on to benefit from this traditional and safe way to deal with diseases.

When Ayurveda talks about diabetes, it considers diabetes as the disease causes due to the deposition of harmful substance in the tissues which blocks the circulatory system. Ayverveda also acknowledges other causes of diabetes, such as imbalanced nervous system, lack of exercises, mental stress, disturbed natural biological cycle, and unhealthy eating habits.

Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes involves various natural medicinal preparations. It also endorses the fact that diabetes cannot be reversed or completely cured; the symptoms can be controlled very effectively and without the side effects which we commonly experience in the regular sugar control drugs. Diabkil is a clinically formulated ayurvedic treatment for diabetes.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Diabetes

Looking at some of the main herbs used in Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes, we find neem turmeric, amalaki (Indian gooseberry), and shilajit (asphalt-um). Ayurvedic practitioners usually suggest their diabetic patients to take medications such as two capsules of turmeric three times daily; mix powdered Indian gooseberry and turmeric with honey and take twice a day; consume small quantities of fenugreek seeds, arjuna, ajwain, triphala, and haritaki after mixing with ghee; consume rose apple stone powder; mix powder of fenugreek seeds, white pepper, and turmeric with glass of milk and drink twice a day; and so on.

While following Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes, patients should have properly balanced diet, avoid consuming much sweets, carbohydrates, and diary products; consume more fresh and green leafy vegetables and fruits, add more citrus fruits like oranges, berries, kiwi, lemon, and cantaloupes to the daily menu, to take good amount of green veggies, soy, and gram; to get good sleep; and to do exercise regularly.

Since Ayurveda considers the causes of diabetes as not just the deficiency of insulin, it also happens due to poor maintenance of the body. Through the Panchakarma treatments, it works on pancreas, liver, spleen, and digestive tract. This way of treatment flushes out the toxins for the vital parts of the body in three phases - pre-purification, main purification and post purification. Various kinds of therapies like oil massages, medicinal enemas, and herbal purification methods are used.

In Ayurveda's 'Rasayana' therapy, nourishment of the body is addressed. With diet control, daily regimens, Ayurveda tonics, etc, the treatment would continue as long as it is necessary. Once you follow the treatment as advised, you will be able to note the benefits in 3 to 4 weeks. There are some other means of Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes, which many patients find of great help and work very well. If you happen to find a good Ayurvedic clinic or expert in your area, better give it a try; you may get very satisfactory results.
